Family Lawyer based in the Divorce and Finance Team expanding my knowledge of matrimonial finance but also dealing with any linked children matters and assisting the Children / Care Team when needed. Dealing with mainly privately funded matters but some legal aid work. Attending Clients at both Lancaster and Preston offices. Mixed caseload of divorce, matrimonial finance, cohabitation issues, pre/post nuptial agreements, children matters, domestic abuse.

Started at the Longridge office as a second family lawyer in the Family Team in November 2016 then moved to Lancaster office in February 2017 and was the sole family fee earner and classed as Head of Department. Dealing with a mixed caseload of privately funded children, divorce, matrimonial finance, cohabitation disputes, TLATA, change of name. Spending one day a week in Garstang office and attending appointments in Longridge when needed. Also taking Will instructions for the first three years and attending Clients on Will signings, and taking initial enquiry instructions for other departments. Small office with minimal staff therefore also dealing with reception duties when needed. Training Legal Assistant who joined from the private client team of another firm and who is now studying for the CILEx qualification. Also voluntary internal courier and Garstang cleaner!

Position obtained following two week work experience placement whilst studying London Chamber of Commerce Private and Executive Secretary's Diploma. Secretary to the Managing Director, and assisting with a portfolio of rental properties, including dealing with viewings.Also providing admin/secretarial support to the finance broker team.
