Rotation student in the lab of Professor Marilena Loizidou with secondary supervision by Professor David Abraham.Project title: Using gold nanoparticles to target cancer cells and monocytes in immunocompetent colorectal tumouroids.Techniques: mammalian cell culture, 3D cell culture, immunofluorescence, RNA sequencing.

Collaborated on multiple early discovery research efforts in solid tumor indications.• Investigated the underlying causes of oncogene dependence in NSCLC using pharmacological assays, RNAseq, and gene editing• Performed a large scale high throughput screen to identify clinically relevant drug combinations in NSCLC• Studied regulators of tumor re-initiation in NSCLC, CRC, and SCC, including modeling resistance to chemotherapy and targeted therapies in vivo and in vitro• Performed multiple in vivo xenograft experiments and generated RNAseq data to evaluate growth requirements for in vivo tumor growth• Used FACS to explore intrinsic resistance to chemotherapy by sorting subpopulations with a distinct epigenetic signature• Collaborated with fellow Discovery Oncology scientists and researchers by running a variety of in vivo mouse experiments• Presented data at internal and external settings in written and oral forms to leadership and peers

Involved in multiple immunology and virology projects aimed at understanding Dengue Virus biology.• Laboratory manager, assisting 6 post-doctoral fellows, 2 graduate students, 4 visiting scholars, 3 technicians, and 10 undergraduates to assure the daily performance and organization of the laboratory, including ordering, shipping biological materials to international collaborators, and performing quality control analyses on banked cell lines• Developed and provided training on frequently used lab protocols• Managed a colony of eleven mouse strains for use by four researchers • Performed double and single blind in vivo and in vitro studies for four pharmaceutical companies, testing efficacy of candidate anti-viral compounds

• Conducted molecular biology experiments for the associate microbiology scientists, including bacterial and fungal DNA isolation, PCR, gel electrophoresis and sequencing preparation• Performed high throughput screens for potential algaecide, insecticide, and fungicide compounds isolated from bacterial and fungal cultures

This position involves processing a high volume of in-person and phone sales in a fast paced work environment. Employees are responsible for staying up to date on constantly changing event calendar as well as drafting emails, and fielding phone calls. My duties include processing season orders, purchases, donations, refunds, and exchanges, as well as packaging large ticketing orders for mailing. I also participated in a hiring panel for new student employees. This position honed my customer relation skills and learned ticketing and patron management technology.

This position entails communicating extensive information effectively to groups of prospective high- and junior high- school students, as well as parents and educators, in groups numbering up to 40 at a time. I provided an encouraging and informative atmosphere where I answered visitor’s questions about the UC Davis campus, student life, and the admissions process as well as researched and followed up on specific problems and questions posed by guests.

I worked at the San Francisco Zoo’s Animal Resource Center supervising teen programs. I spent significant time working hands-on with the animals, as well as assisting hundreds of visitors daily, supervising and training 150 young volunteers, and developing a new performance evaluation system.
