Though past projects placed me on-screen, I spend the bulk of my time with GK Visual behind the camera. Depending on the project, I provide assistance in concept development, script writing and general project management. I'm often on-set, serving as interviewer or assisting with client relations, part of which includes helping to produce Burg in Focus, our partnership with TheBurg. I also serve as GK Visual's marketing arm, responsible for our weekly blog content, biweekly email blast, website updates, general social media posts, news releases and help with GKV event planning, including our GK Live concert series.

My time with the state House was spent in the communications shop, where my daily challenges included writing in the voice of up to eight different Members, preparing a variety of written correspondence including news releases, constituent email blasts, direct mail newsletters and the occasional set of floor remarks for each. This involved substantial research and knowledge of public policy issues, initiatives, district makeup and of course, the legislative process. I also managed these same members’ legislative websites, photo galleries, and eventually social media accounts. During my tenure at the House, I was responsible for bringing social media to the Democratic Caucus. It was my detailed research and thoughtful arguments that convinced Leadership that the Caucus should utilize both Facebook and Twitter, and those accounts became my responsibility to maintain. Thusly, I led the Communications Office in providing this for all membersBy Nov. 2011, I was promoted, which added editing my colleagues’ written work to my list of duties.
