Served as the staff support for multiple alumni volunteer groups, including the Alumni Board. Worked closely with the Alumni Board's Diversity and Inclusion Committee to support and actualize their goals, including assisting with the founding of three identity-based alumni networks. Provided expertise and guidance on justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion matters for the Alumni Programs and Annual Fund team, particularly in the areas of alumni engagement strategic planning, programming, and fundraising. Recruited, trained, and managed alumni volunteers for three peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns each fiscal year. Thoughtfully stewarded a portfolio of over 90 alumni donors, and increased my portfolio’s total annual giving by over 25%. Developed and carried out sophisticated alumni programming throughout each calendar year. Participated in annual fund strategic planning discussions and wrote fundraising appeals for donors at the $1,000+ level. Recruited alumni for Reunions quinquennial class committees, and worked closely with each to design their Reunions event(s). Developed and maintained strong relationships with campus partners.

Two-year research fellowship to write, publish, and present the data from my mixed methods dissertation study on the experiences of sexual violence faced by LGBTQ college students.

Revitalized the Louisiana Progress Journal, a published magazine highlighting key progressive legislative priorities facing Louisiana. Developed and oversaw the Louisiana Progress Fellows Program, which enabled partnerships with 10 high-profile thought leaders and progressive activists from around the state on an annual basis. Provided expert testimony on women’s healthcare and education policy to the Louisiana Legislature. Coordinated a statewide summit on education policy in Louisiana. Served as the point person for and generated all policy-related research and educational information for the organization. Established and executed policy priorities in six different key areas (economic development and justice; environment; education; equity and civil liberties; healthcare; and public safety and criminal justice) and generated policy briefs, blog posts, and public interest campaigns around them. Supervised staff members and volunteers, and provided regular guidance to the Executive Director. Coordinated statewide and local events that elevated the visibility of the organization and drew attention to progressive legislative policy.

Successfully organized and coordinated a two-day statewide academic conference on the theme of Black women’s experiences with the criminal justice system. Managed relationships with key stakeholders, and arranged contracts with numerous vendors. Provided day-to-day management of the Project, from sending organizational emails to updating the website and database. Successfully managed a $125,000 Ford Foundation grant. Recruited, trained, and oversaw eight student volunteers.

Organized and coordinated a weeklong series of sexual violence awareness and prevention events at William Woods University for Sexual Violence Awareness Month. Built relationships with and actively partnered with local law enforcement and community leaders to support advocacy efforts for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Recruited, trained and maintained the organization’s volunteer base, which included staffing the 24-hour crisis hotline. Revised the training curriculum to be LGBTQ+ inclusive and pushed the organization to develop policies for helping LGBTQ+ survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Conducted intakes and made resource referrals for domestic and sexual violence victims. Accompanied survivors to court for legal hearings.
