Sara Cheney is from Orlando, Florida and is a recent graduate from the University of Florida. She received a bachelor of design in Interior Design from the College of Design, Construction, and Planning.She has developed proficient skills in digital programs such as Autocad, Revit, Enscape, 3DS Max, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office. These are all skills that were mastered through courses like Construction Documents, Finishes and Materials, 3D Applications, Communications, and Interior Lighting Design. In this program she first learned how to conceptualize space and have a greater spatial understanding through three semesters of architectural studio courses. From there, she was able to put those skills to use in Interior Design studio courses. In the Interior Design studio courses, she has experienced start to end designs which includes important skills like conceptualization and branding. Some of these projects included working on adaptive reuse, restaurant design, and large office spaces. This makes her a valuable, well-rounded designer that can work not only in team projects but also individually.She believes that interior design means more than just creating aesthetic spaces, but to also design a space that is safe and functional.
