Under the guidance of RCAP's senior manager of research, I worked to make Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) data more accessible to the general public and stakeholders in the RCAP community. Accomplishments include:• Independently creating a Python script to scrape violation data from the EPA Safe Drinking Water Information System, allowing the partnership to have a simple method of updating their records each quarter• Generating an ArcGIS Dashboard of violations and charts of contaminant type, as a resource for technical assistance partners (TAP's)• Performing data analysis and developing conceptual visualizations and communication materials for internal RCAP presentations

Assisted the Superfund Support Branch team Region 2's Laboratory Science and Applied Science Division as a Life Science Student Trainee. I supported the team by updating data documents with most updated regulatory information and site assessment data, updated site quality assurance plans and conducted Superfund site investigations.Accomplishments:• Updated and prepared quality assurance plans (QAAP’s) for Superfund sites in NY State under EPA standard operating procedures • Analyzed data and created tables in excel to support EPA’s superfund work with NY DEC and environmental forensics’ investigations• Compiled regulatory data and sampling results for Superfund team’s leans management project (ELMS) allowing deliverables to delivered to project manager 30 days prior to the deadline

Liaison between NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJ DEP) and community, municipal and county level stakeholders within NJ's Watershed Management Area #20. I sought to improve knowledge of watershed health and local water pollution issues and monitor water quality of streams within the watershed. Accomplishments:• Lead and implemented environmental stewardship projects (clean-ups & rain barrel building workshops) with the assistance of 170+ community volunteers• Coordinated events by working with local stakeholders, culminating in over 517 volunteer hours totaling a value of $11,927• Conducted 35 biological and habitat assessments in 11 streams for NJ DEP Ambient Surface Water Quality Monitoring Network• Compiled and submitted a technical report to NJ DEP highlighting findings and changes within the Assiscunk, Crosswicks & Doctors Creek Watershed over a 10 month period

Assisted the PARS Health and Safety team with their Right-to-Know contracts in the Winter of 2017 and Summer of 2018. The Right-to-Know program is a program in New Jersey that requires public and private employers to provide information about hazardous substances in the workplace. I worked to ensure that contracts were met on time and projects were under budget. In addition, I ensured that precise and thorough data was collected at each site.Accomplishments:• Led summer intern teams in conducting Right-to-Know surveys in 60 Newark, NJ schools• Conducted Right-to-Know surveys and data entry at Brookdale Community College, Gloucester County Schools, Glassboro Public Schools, and Montgomery Townships schools below the budgeted cost• Sampled for presence of lead in the drinking water at various Newark, NJ schools to generate list of contaminated sources for the district

Under the direction of Dr. Steve Tuorto, I researched the efficiency of rain gardens and green roofs to determine if there was an effective metric to measure their efficiency. To understand the efficiency of the Institute's green roof, I designed an experimental procedure to measure water uptake and compiled a report highlighting my recommendations to improve efficiency. Furthermore, I assisted with weekly water quality sampling of 10 sites along Jacobs Creek and Woolsey Brook in Hopewell, NJ. Accomplishments:• Recommendations in final report were used as part of criteria to replant green roof and improve the efficiency• Generated models of water quality at sampled sites, which was used to support the designation of Jacobs Creek as a C1 protected stream

I was responsible for conducting field surveys at public schools and municipal buildings across the state of New Jersey. I tabulated field survey results and entered them into the PARS Right-to-Know database.Accomplishments:• Updated PARS database records with most recent safety data sheets (SDS) for all recorded substances within the database• Compiled final Right-to-Know reports and uploaded them to the NJ Department of Health (DOH) portal for surveyed districts
