Working across the range of HR disciplines, I provide HR guidance and support to 5 schools within our Trust. This ranges from disciplinary and grievance cases to absence management, recruitment and staffing restructures. I also provide specialist advice on employment law and managing risk in terms of HR. Policy writing and review also form part of my remit. Being responsive to constant change within the sector is also imperative. A true generalist role!

I provide a comprehensive operational human resources and training service to managers and employees across the organisation, ensuring the design and delivery of best practice HR solutions in accordance with corporate policies and employment legislation. Providing advice and direction to managers across the organisation is key to this role and I also lead on the development and implementation of new and existing HR policies in line with employment law.In addition to this, I lead on specific areas of work as agreed within the team to develop the delivery of core and strategic areas of work.

My job purpose is to work with members of the HR team in providing a comprehensive HR service to managers and employees across the organisation; to ensure the efficient, timely and accurate administration of the employee life cycle. A key part of my role has also been establishing myself as a HR contact for the Leeds office - before my manager joined the organisation there was no HR presence in Leeds and we have built upon this and really made a difference. Key Achievements:Review of the recruitment and selection policy and procedures; project successfully delivered on time and well received. Delivered a couple of workshops to managers to highlight changes and reasons for the changes.Being the only HR team member in Leeds during my line manager's maternity leave; successfully delivering a HR service to the Leeds office during this period.Being nominated for a staff award in the 2009 awards round in the category 'For making the Confed a better place to work'. The judging panel noted that I am recognised for adding real value to the Leeds office through my accessibility to all staff and managers.

I had two fairly long term temporary assignments for Hays; one with a manufacturing company and one with a further education college. Both were linked to projects and I was given quite a lot of responsibility in delivering on certain areas of the projects. Key Achievements:Continued contract extensions in both roles as the managers I worked with realised my capability and found additional work for me to undertake.Dealt with end to end recruitment process for 44 new members of staff at a new factory in Liverpool.Successful data migration from one HR system to another at the college (necessitated by the merging of 2 colleges with different HR systems).

My role was to manage the recruitment processes within Central functions (Finance, HR, IT, Purchasing, Marketing & Communications) to ensure timely recruitment of high calibre recruits to the business.Key Achievements:Implementing a coherent and consistent recruitment process from scratch.Dealing with the implementation of a preferred supplier list (PSL) for recruitment agencies.Achieving cost savings in the region of £190k (based on year by year comparison of agency fees).Successfully delivering a presentation on benefits to 77 members of staff.

My role was to support the administrative function of Personnel, advising staff on a wide range of general personnel issues, with particular responsibility for recruitment and selection activities in the University, ensuring the effective appointment of staff in accordance with legislative requirements.Key Achievements:Reviewing the recruitment and selection procedures and policy and being involved in implementing this change.Leading the recruitment and selection for 8 large departments of the University. My paper on "Recruitment and selection at the University of Huddersfield" was presented at an international conference in Greece in June 2006 and subsequently published in a book entitled "Reflecting on issues and controversies in current management trends".

I dealt with a range of personnel issues mainly to do with recruitment and selection and any staff changes. I placed adverts, dealt with the response from these, corresponded with applicants, produced contracts and offer letters. I also processed contract variations and liaised with payroll over these.
