Sara Valenzuela joined the Office of the Manhattan Borough President to serve as Intergovernmental Affairs Liaison and Latino Affairs Liaison where she works to encourage progressive legislation and initiatives in partnership with fellow government agencies, elected officials, and advocates in New York. In addition she has taken on Veterans Outreach and along with her position as Latino Affairs Liaison, she is working to broaden the partnerships and extend information about the initiatives of the Borough President's office.

Helped to form the federal policy and government affairs office to promote national environmental initiatives through outreach to members of the US Senate and House, outreach to minority communities, women's empowerment in the green economy, and promoting environmental education across the nation.
