About Sara Delaney

I am a leader with a passion for empowering farmers and working towards sustainable food systems. I have 15 years of experience spanning the academic, UN, NGO, and social enterprise sectors, and degrees in Biological and Environmental Engineering (BS) and Science, Society and Development (MA)...and now a PhD in progress! My technical knowledge covers both agronomic principles of farming including diversified cropping systems, soil heath, water management, and pest and disease control, as well as the social science theory of rural livelihoods, gender, nutrition and individual and community behavior change. I have worked with a variety of research and M&E techniques and favor lean, participatory and farmer-led evaluation. I am interested in approaches which build on farmers’ knowledge to increase on-farm resilience to environmental stresses and climate change.
