I am an exercise physiologist turned physician associate. My areas of expertise include preventative medicine, health behavior, and data management.My career began with an emphasis on managing preventable disease risk through exercise and nutrition programming. This evolved to include the use of behavioral theory and mental health assessment in the promotion of sustained positive behavior change.I now practice medicine in a tertiary care otolaryngology clinic at a large academic institution. I treat a wide range of patients from rare head and neck cancers to those debilitated by preventable or lifestyle related illness such as acid reflux and obstructive sleep apnea.Attempting to help patients achieve health within our modern day healthcare system has highlighted the importance of practicing comprehensive medicine and understanding the behaviors pertinent to health outcomes that dictate compliance and success within our medical system.My goal is to leverage my wellness and behavioral health knowledge, in addition to my understanding of medicine and the functionality of our modern day healthcare system to help individuals redefine and achieve health on their own terms.
