I used to play with numbers. Now I play with toys.Twelve years in public accounting came to a halt when the pandemic hit and I found myself running a firm from home in tax season while watching two toddlers. Burn-out and depressed from this marathon, I had to leave the accounting world behind as I could no longer serve my clients while changing diapers and making snacks.While trying to keep my kids entertained so I could work (without relying solely on screens), I started to pay more attention to the toys in our house and how many of them were just not keeping my kids engaged for more than five minutes. Beyond that, some broke right away, or were surface-wash only, or had a ton of pieces that didn’t come with storage. So I started to really think about classic toys and what kept me entertained as a kid and what toys I want in my house as a parent.So I got thinking and designed a toy. It is an eleven-piece play couch made up of all sorts of cushion shapes to be built into a fort, a slide, a tunnel, a tea party, an obstacle course and more. By having toys in our house that do more, we can have fewer toys, less clutter and find more happiness in our lives.
