Ioannis Sarafis received his PhD in 2018 from the Department of Electrical and Computers Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece, in the field of machine learning. He is the Technical Manager of the EU-funded REBECCA project (https://rebeccaproject.eu/), coordinating the project’s scientific and technical work. In the past, Ioannis has worked as a research associate in the EU-funded SPLENDID project, where he developed data-driven models for the identification of risky eating and physical activity behaviours in adolescents and young adults. Also, he has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the EU-funded BigO project, where he developed big data algorithms for the analysis of behavioural patterns related to obesity in children and adolescents and for the association of obesogenic behaviours to the individuals’ local environments. His research interests are in the fields of machine learning and data analysis with noisy or incomplete labels.
