As a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Bioscience Engineering at the University of Antwerp (Laboratory of Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology of prof. Sarah Lebeer) my research focuses on the interplay between women and their microbes which adds to my passion to help fill gender data and health inequity gaps. It is my conviction that a multidisciplinary approach incites innovative results and opens doors for novel research in the field of women’s health. My engagement goes further than research alone, with an active role in supporting women in STEM and related fields. I care deeply about female causes and am committed to apply technology to improve women’s health and safety. My passion is also reflected in my scientific and layman’s communications on topics of women’s health and diversity in STEM, and my readiness to participate in scientific discussions with peers and colleagues.
