This innovative Australian anchor station represented a significant capability for the ADF with global coverage, increased wideband capacity & operational flexibility. It was the first and WGS certified terminal in Australia. The exacting requirements of the certification process provided an exciting challenge but flexibility and close cooperation with the Defence Materiel Organisation and Major suppliers’ General Dynamics Satcom Technologies (Dish and related infrastructure), and Comtech EF (data modems and related equipment) saw two anchor stations successfully delivered.
