Managing the operational side of the retail department. Producing a rota for 23 shops and roughly 60 staff, maintaining records of services and inspections of 23 premises and 3 retail vans, and helping to improve and streamline processes within the department.

A secondment covering a colleague's maternity leave. In this role I was responsible for volunteer recruitment, processing volunteer applications, helping with the selection and ordering of Christmas cards, overseeing the team of retail drivers, as well as supporting a large team of shop managers.

This role involved working in a busy retail office answering phones, booking in furniture collections, processing stationery and cleaning product orders, and general paperwork and filing.

I worked in our Broadway shop as Deputy Shop Manager, covering the regular shop manager's day off, as well as working with them one day a week. I also became Deputy Manager of our first city centre shop on Fossgate when it opened. Responsibilities included processing donations, signing up Gift Aid donors, merchandising, leading a team of volunteers as well as cashing up.

I was in this role when we opened our warehouse, and so helped to get it up and running. Our warehouse, known as the Donation Centre, takes in over 100 bags a day, and I was responsible for sorting and distributing stock to the shops, overseeing a team of volunteer sorters, and making sure to get the right stock got to the right shops to maximise income.

I worked in our Heworth furniture shop as Deputy Shop Manager. This role involved pricing of furniture, listing items for sale on Preloved, merchandising the shop and cashing up.

Working on a bank as and when basis, I would cover shops when the manager was sick or on holiday. This role required flexibility to work where and when needed. I was responsible for the running of the shop whilst the shop manager was absent, including processing donations, merchandising and cashing up.
