As an injury epidemiologist at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), I use my data analysis and visualization skills to monitor and report on injury trends across the state. I manage hospital and mortality datasets, conduct statistical analyses using SAS and R, and produce data products and interpretation for stakeholders such as other state agencies and local health departments. I am passionate about data sharing and health equity, and I always seek to learn new ways to use data to improve health outcomes in my community.I hold a Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology from the University of Georgia, where I also earned a certificate in infectious diseases. Before joining CDPHE, I completed a highly competitive fellowship in applied epidemiology funded by the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists, where I developed analytical skills in predictive models, interrupted time series analyses, and summary statistics. I also analyzed Colorado data in injury indicators to submit to the CDC, and collaborated and learned from seasoned epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and evaluators. I am proficient in Tableau for data visualization, and I have experience with SQL and GIS mapping.
