Undergraduate student studying at the University of Derby Buxton with the aim of completing a 3 year Degree in BA (Hons) Tourism Management. The study programme covers various areas of Travel & Tourism and Business Management, with various modules including Business Operations Management, Destination Management and Niche Tourism. Being the main voice for 2nd Year Tourism Management students, for all matters relating to the course, and the University etc. As well as attending two Programme Committee meetings, one in Autumn and the other in Spring, to voice any concerns, comments or issues which have been raised by students throughout the 1st and 2nd Semester. Currently 2nd year as a Tourism Rep.

Working on a voluntary basis for the local destination marketing organisation Visit Peak District & Derbyshire. The organisation is responsible for promoting the destination to attract a variety of visitors including business travelers and tourists. - Researched into Group Travel activity offered by other DMO’s and tour operators and reported findings to VPDD, for example VPDD are doing well in comparison to other DMO’s, but there are gaps such as accessibility to group travel information on VPDD’s website and social media channels. - Set up spread sheets and documents for assignments such as finding events in 2015 to be included in the latest Visitor Guide. - Attended major business events such as the VPDD annual conference, local business conferences and leaflet swaps. - Updated VPDD’s accommodation in the Peak District & Derbyshire Pinterest board, as well as monitored the organisations other social media channels.

- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the busy Chatsworth Farm Shop Café on a daily basis and events at Chatsworth. - Proven ability to provide excellent customer service, ensuring all customers are served promptly and efficiently. - Chosen to train new members of staff to Chatsworth’s high standards.

Working with the Education Department of Chatsworth Settlement Trustees to develop an educational product, aimed at Further and Higher Education establishments which offer Business and Travel & Tourism courses.- Contacting local schools and colleges to gain feedback on the package, and making any necessary changes to ensure it meets the need of the schools and colleges.- Researching the curriculum for Business and Travel & Tourism Studies to pick out key themes to include in the package to ensure that the package meets customer needs.

- Trained new members of staff to the standards set by the company. - Carried out other tasks and responsibilities if needed to due to the nature of the business, such as working in one of the fast food restaurants or the gift shop. - Provided excellent customer service to all guests, making sure that everyone was served and given the experience they expected. - Made sure that all transactions were recorded, as well as cashing up the retail or catering unit and that all paper work was maintained and the level of stock in the unit matched the customer purchase rate.
