As a Training Director, I am responsible for our APA-accredited health service psychology doctoral internship program. I also oversee the training of postdoctoral residents seeking hours for licensure to become psychologists. I lead the Internship Quality Leadership Team, the Internship Program Implementation Team, and the Internship Training Committee. My supervision style follows the integrative developmental model, and I also align with many concepts from the competency-based approach to supervision. As a leader, I lead with heart. I build connections, provide clear communication about expectations, prioritize breaking down barriers for the team's success, delegate, empower others to develop solutions, work alongside staff to develop the best workflows to meet our mission, make quick yet sound decisions, and communicate and lead change effectively. I enjoy and see project management as a great strength. I am an active member of multiple committees including the National Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation DEI team, the National Mental Health and Family Team, and multiple EHR-related improvement committees. I co-lead HBFF's national suicide risk mitigation team including developing and implementing suicide risk assessment and intervention protocols, procedures, and training. I work as part of a multidisciplinary team of talented individuals treating addiction, providing residential and day treatment services. I work in the mental health department with a dedicated team treating co-occurring mental health disorders by providing diagnostic assessments, group and individual interventions, crisis assessment and interventions, and continuing care recommendations. I am a DBT therapist. I also utilize techniques from CBT, behavioral therapy, solutions focused therapy, and person centered therapy along with conceptualizing patients using attachment theory and weighing heavily on my cultural humility.
