As an intern, I work to expand and enhance the USGBC's branding, social media presence, website structure, and communications efforts across the Texas chapter. Through communications, the message and work of USGBC will hopefully reach the entire state of Texas.

For this role, I attend to various managerial tasks such as scheduling appointments at the Texas Capitol for the Executive Director of Keeping PACE In Texas, corresponding with office staffers, and tracking the PACE bill as it moves through the Texas Senate.

University Of Texas At Austin

Undergraduate student chosen as one of 10 voting members to recommend policies and practices that reflect and expand the University of Texas' commitment to sustainability and stewardship of the environment by making recommendations to the University administration. This committee ensures campus policy is in alignment with UT System policy and furthers the implementation of the campus Sustainability Master Plan.

As Sustainability Policy Director, I serve as the liaison between sustainability stake holders around the University and the student body. I work to improve sustainability measures taken by the University and various University affiliates, including waste management strategies, educational opportunities, and student engagement efforts. Working on the Advocacy Staff of Student Government will allow me the opportunity to work on making changes across campus that will allow the University to achieve its sustainability goals and will help align the efforts of the University with student interest.

As the Director of Communications, I authored and executed communication strategy for an organization of over 400 members. This entails maintaining and overseeing all of the official Student Government social media outlets, consistently updating and enhancing our website, interacting with local media and outlets, including the Daily Texan, and processing advertisement requests from various on-campus entities. I serve as first point of contact for all communication related matters for the entire Student Government organization, including social media, website, and written matters. I delegate internal requests to any one of my nine staff members, all of whom work with me to ensure that Student Government communications channels are clear and efficient.

Beta Xi Chapter Of Kappa Kappa Gamma

As Risk management chair, I planned transportation to and from sorority events for an organization of ~300 members. This involved coordinating with various Austin bus companies, making sure that our transportation system abides by all of the Kappa bylaws, and handling sensitive documents such as COIs, contracts, and Independent Transportation Agreements. I also coordinated and created programing to educate members on risk and risk mitigation. I worked extensively with Chapter Council and Advisory board to abide by Kappa Kappa Gamma bylaws and minimize potential for harm to chapter members.

Completed training to be certified in registering residents of Travis County to vote in elections.

West Campus, Austin, Texas

[Re]Move + [Re]Use was an initiative to properly divert waste commonly produced during the West Campus move out period in Austin. I worked with the City of Austin and Keep Austin Beautiful to organize recycling, donating, and waste stations in West Campus to reduce amount of wasted materials and resources that litter the streets during August move out. I curated and created marketing materials for this project, assisted in coordination and organization of these efforts, rallied volunteers, and spread the word about this event by distributing flyers and posters to various living facilities in West Campus.

I attended regular meetings pursuing environmentally friendly initiatives within Greek life to encourage sustainable behavior and help Greek organization adhere to Austin sustainability requirements. I also corresponded with the philanthropy chairs of various Greek organizations to coordinate waste diversion plans for three different waste diversion pick-ups after Greek parties, where the waste would have otherwise been placed in a landfill.

PurPics works with organizations with a philanthropic mission to establish a relationship between organizations and local businesses in which local businesses donate money to a designated philanthropic cause through likes on Instagram. I connected PurPics to philanthropy chairs in various organizations with the hope of establishing a fundraising event.

As Director of Communications, I authored and executed communication strategy for a successful student government campaign. I oversaw and cultivated visual, verbal, and textual content for six-week campaign, during which I taught myself Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and other graphic design tools. This included all of the physical merchandise distributed by the campaign team and all of the social media marketing materials. I directed a communications team of 50 people, resulting in mobilization of the highest number of student votes in recent history in which 25% of campus voted. In addition to these formal responsibilities, our internal team created content for our platform, prepared the candidates for debate, and spent the majority of our free time during these months campaigning.

University Of Texas At Austin

In this role I led a weekly two-hour study group session for students in small groups, complete with lesson plan for the class and practice problems for exam materials cultivated by the professor and the other PLUS mentors. We met with the professor for this class once weekly to decide on the material to be relayed in the tutoring sessions. I also led the sessions that were held before the exams, so in addition to leading weekly reviews on class material, I led the reviews that prepared the majority of the class for our exams.

With the team of on-campus social and service chairs, I coordinated events for members of the CEC to spend time together through service opportunities, including waste diversion programs at the UT football games, and social events, including pumpkin carving and touring the UT energy facilities.
