Responsible for leading national policy and strategy development for primary care services to support delivering of the commitments in the General Practice Forward View & transform general practice. I am responsible for leading a programme of work, working with national stakeholders, to improve processes and support greater collaboration across the interface between primary and secondary care - to improve patient care and experience and reduce unnecessary workload shifting between care setting. Thus freeing up clinical time to spend with patients.

Working with senior colleagues and stakeholders, I am responsible for ensuring the NHS England's Business Plan reflects the strategic priorities of the organisation - providing strategic and clinical leadership in commissioning - ensuring high quality care for all, now and for future generations

As part of the Senior Management Team, I was responsible for strategic leadership of coporate support functions including Finance, Communications, HR and Contract Management & Procurement. Ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient and customer focussed services to support the delivery of the Council's business plan.

I was responsible for the leadership and management of the Council's environmental services function including Waste & Recycling Collections, Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing. This involve ensuring the delivery of a high performing and cost effective service through effective contract management. I was also responsile for delivering service transformation and was successful in acheiving significant savings and improved service specification through leading the design and procurement of an integrated streetscene service. This brought together waste & recycling, street cleansing and grounds maintenance in one contract and included the successful implementation of an alternative weekly collection scheme and improved kerbside recycling service.

In this role I was responsible for leading a multi-disciplined team delivering environmental protection and regulation. This covered waste regulation, pollution control and process industry regulation.
