About Sarah Britton

I am a biosecurity consultant with over 30 years of experience in veterinary science, policy, and risk management. I founded One Biosecurity Solutions, a consultancy group that offers specialised services in biosecurity, surveillance, emergency preparedness, disease management, and One Health principles. As the former Chief Veterinary Officer at the NSW Department of Primary Industries, I led critical efforts to protect animal health industries, communities, and the environment from the impact of pests, diseases, and residues. I spearheaded a $42 million Foot and Mouth Disease preparedness project, developed and implemented biosecurity strategic and operational plans, and drove transformational change to enhance capability in government animal biosecurity. I also have extensive experience in emergency response, communication, and training, and corporate governance through multiple Board roles. My passion lies in adopting a One Health approach, which recognises the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health and the need for collaboration and holistic strategies to address emerging challenges. I am also committed to helping people and teams realise their potential, improve their self-awareness, and build effective relationships. I hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, a Diploma of Veterinary Clinical Studies, and membership at the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, as well as credentials in leadership, coaching, and behavioural profiling.Let's connect to explore how I can help you achieve your biosecurity goals, enhance your capability, or share my insights on One Health and related topics.
