Technical programme delivery for a £250m Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund programme, the Transforming Foundation Industries Challenge, which aims to transform the UK's foundation industries (metals, glass, paper, ceramics, cement and bulk chemicals) to ensure international competitiveness and development of sustainable products and processes. Regular guest speaker and panelist at events and conferences representing Innovate UK and as a sector expert. Notable Projects: - Deepdive study exploring the barriers to innovation faced by foundation industries businesses of all sizes- Delivery of 5 heavily oversubscribed grant funding competitions- Managed strategic communications and impact dissemination for the programme- Supported key projects to maximise delivery potential including RECTIFI, Cement2Zero, Flue2Chem, IRIFIO- Champion for diversity in the industries, co-creating the Women Innovators in Foundation Industries (WINFI) network and enabling the TFI Women's Leadership Programmes- Established the TFI Future Leaders Group to provide advisory support to the Challenge from early career professionals across the Foundation Industries- Delivered a series of SME engagement programmes to increase the innovation across supply chains

Representing Associate Members as part of the Institute's governance structure, advising the Executive Board on major strategic decisions and strategic planning.

Led a committee of volunteers to deliver a technical interest programme for materials scientists and supporters across the Coventry and Warwickshire region, as a local society for IOM3. - Managed transition to online then to hybrid delivery- Continued to support talented students through awards- Delivered monthly lectures and annual social event for members- Managed a team of 10 volunteers- Delivered a lecture in September 2021 on "Sustainability in the Foundation Industries"

Technical delivery of the Rapid Alloy Prototyping (RAP) Catapult funded project, developing a state-of-the-art "virtual factory" for the development of advanced steel grades and processes. Project Successes:- RAP enables rapid (100 times faster than conventional methods), sustainable and less expensive trials (much smaller volumes of material created).- RAP increases innovation appetite by de-risking scale-up journeys.- RAP allows offline process optimisation based on fundamental principles to be applied directly into the steelmaking environment.- Presented at international conferences including SteelSIM19 in Toronto.

DPhil Student at the University of Oxford on a CASE Studentship from the National Nuclear Lab, focused on the scale-up of processing for oxide dispersion strengthened steel using conventional (powder processed) and novel (hybrid-liquid metal techniques) for applications in the nuclear industry - both fission (fuel cladding) and fusion (structural).

Deputy Coordinator for the Focus On Materials Headstart Course, updating and implementing a week-long residential academic programmes to reflect current materials research topics, in partnership with the department's Schools Liaison Officer. Responsibilities included management of 6 student mentors, and co-ordinating site tours of the Joint European Torus fusion reactor and the BMW Mini Assembly Plant.
