As part of the Customer Services team, we play an integral role in the college’s strategic plan. My current role is heavily involved with Higher Education, and with this comes great responsibility and a customer who expects that little but more. I can demonstrate my commitment to customer care with best practice which is reflected in the process flow documents. A real need for best practice within Admissions has become even more apparent since we have seen the introduction of UCAS to the College. I have accommodated big changes and adapted myself and my team accordingly and demonstrated a flexible attitude and approach to our day to day Admissions.The UCAS systems are so diverse and there is so much scope and diversity that is has took a lot of hard work and commitment which myself and my team have demonstrated to make this a successful venture for the College. I work as a Customer Services Officer for gateshead College.Providing front line support and first point of contact to students, members of the public, visitors and staff as they enter the college.My job role varies from Reception duties, to Information, Advice and Guidance, to Call centre and Admissions work.Really enjoying my time here, made some useful contacts and great friends! :)

Whilst working here on a placement year from uni, I became project manager for the year planning a 4 day event covering all aspects - employment, hopsitality, catering, in house activities, risk assessments etc!
