I make amazing hand poured all natural soy candles (which I previously sold as sacred art candles) under the new moniker flam bō. flam bō is the phonetic spelling of flambeaux who are the men who traditionally lit the Mardi Gras parades before street lights or fiber optic lighting that most night floats currently boast. Here I dove into the Real Estate world without any prior experience besides owning rental property myself. I learned the ins and outs of buying and selling properties. I helped create contracts and other legally binding documents pertinent in the sale of property. I also was responsible for paying bills and property management of over 30 units.

As the boss lady at Sacred Art, I am constantly strategizing on how to increase sales whether it be by merchandising or promotion. I actively curate and resource all artists to be represented in the shop. To keep things fresh for my clientele, I rotate the works and artists whom I bring in. I really enjoy moving things around and re-purposing random items to use as display pieces. I also really enjoy building and creating things myself to sell in the shop. I am always delving into learning about many different mediums of art but also different fields related to art. I am currently attending the SAIC to learn about the Creative Suite and Graphic Design. I love to event plan and I organize fundraisers and different happenings for the shop as well as the community. Historically I have managed people my entire career and really enjoy training people to be the best they can be. I love a project and to problem solve. Challenges come easy to me and I love the feeling of accomplishment. Hence I became an entrepreneur!

I was brought onto the opening VOLO team to curate and implement the wine list. I have such a passion for food and wine and really enjoyed that position. I also handled the inventory and liquor costs. In addition, I interviewed, hired, managed and trained the staff. I worked as the lead bartender and helped staff on the floor when needed.

I learned so much from Michael Kornick and was thrilled to have worked at mk. I oversaw the day to day operations during service. I was in charge of the wine training program for the staff. I did the scheduling, interviewing, and hiring of staff. In addition, I was responsible for maintaining dry goods inventory. Hands down one of my most rewarding jobs in the hospitality business.
