I've worked in and around the real estate industry for over 25 years. In addition to selling real estate I've been involved in community development, invested in and managed projects creating affordable homeownership, and increasingly have found ways to integrate sustainability into rehab/construction and design jobs. I've managed staff, projects and businesses- both my own and for others. Much of my work has included being hands on, whether it be using the tools of the trade or communicating with others to create the optimal result. I have experience working within budgets and excel in providing a quality product or design regardless of the job size. The completion of my recent master's degree in Sustainable Design has helped me understand and integrate sustainable theories into projects and has allowed me to learn newer BIM software such as Revit.I have a bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor in Latin American Studies. My degree has helped me to be an excellent communicator, and while completing the requirements for my minor I was able to study in Costa Rica and travel extensively throughout Central America. This, along with living in and traveling through South America, Europe and the Caribbean has given me an opportunity to learn from and about other cultures and their values. I believe these experiences have enhanced my communication skills and provided me with a unique perpective when it comes to how I approach a given project or job.Wherever I'm living, I try to make community involvement a priority. Over the years this has translated to coaching local kids, joining grass roots recycling organizations and becoming a member of a school board.
