About Sarah Cook

I am a curator of contemporary art and new media art in all forms, from exhibitions to public art commissions, screening-based events to performance, conferences, symposia, workshops. I have extensive experience commissioning new interdisciplinary art collaborations, most recently across art and AI and art and biological life sciences research.Academically, I am currently head of the subject area of Information Studies; I am a researcher and have worked as a course leader in museum studies, curatorial studies and new media art, with research unit leadership duties. I have particular specialist experience commissioning and curating networked and participatory work as well as artists film and video. My experience is based around research and curating exhibitions and related educational projects in museums galleries and off-site. I am interested in AI, database-driven work, simulation and re-enactment, and art and science collaborations.Specialties: Curating; researching, writing, editing, project management; commissioning; consultancy; mentoring.
