As the Assistant Building Manager, working weekends, it is my duty to routinely check the building for maintenance issues and also to keep up the environment service (cleanliness) of the building. At Bluestone the Assistant Building Manager is also the leasing agent. So providing a period of time each day to prospective tenants and viewings of our building. We also are 'live-in' managers, so we are able to provide 24-7 emergency services as necessary.

Implementing daily activities with recreation and play based curriculum in the before and after school program, at Mountsfield Public School. It is my duty, along with my assistant's help to provide a safe, welcoming and trustworthy environment for all children and parents in my program. Also creating program plans weekly, and also future planning begun. Daily documentation of what we did that day is always important and a great way for kids to revisit previous learning. It also helps me plan according to curriculum and the children's interests, for better learning. Supervising my assistant in the program, and delegating tasks so both staff can quality time with the children.

Working in the recreation department is a very important position. You are some of the front line workers for residents in the building. It is also important to know specifically how each and every program is facilitated and implemented so you are able to adapt the program to various needs within your retirement home. As a front line worker in the home, you are there to provide the best customer care and experience there is. Working temporary full time, I was delegated various tasks on company software and also created spreadsheets to help keep track of resident participation in the home. This helps the department understand better what programs are working and what is not. In recreation you wear various 'hats'. I would also work in reception, Wellness (health) and in the dining room.
