I am an Assistant Professor of Naval Science at University of Virginia and a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy. I have a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Miami University and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Leadership and Public Policy at University of Virginia. I have finished Joint Professional Military Education Phase I at the U.S. Naval War College. My core competencies include interpersonal skills, teaching, and naval operations.In my current role as an Assistant Professor of Naval Science, I teach Navy Officer Candidates Navigation and Naval Operations, as well as mentor and develop Midshipmen as a Year Group Advisor. At sea, I have lead multiple divisions ranging from 10-20 Sailors and Chiefs. I have been directly responsible for the management of multi-million dollar weapon systems. I am passionate about shaping the next generation of Navy leaders and enhancing the national security and defense capabilities of our country. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have served in various roles and locations across the Navy. I am also committed to lifelong learning and professional development, as evidenced by my academic achievements and certifications.
