In our work with high-risk individuals and organisations, we track multiple intelligence sources related to security threats – including terrorism, global geopolitics, civil unrest, crime, cyber risks, natural disasters, health emergencies and protest activity.Through our Security Operations Centre (SOC), we monitor security systems in real-time to protect our clients, their families, and their residential, maritime and aviation assets – at home and globally. We also monitor extremist sentiment in deep web chatrooms, and in social and online media, identifying persons of interest and, where necessary, conducting investigations on our clients’ behalf.Intelligence underpins our advice to clients on specific security risks that might affect them directly. It allows us to anticipate risk and implement mitigation strategies that balance our client’s protection needs with their individual lifestyle and professional choices.In global travel, for example, this could include providing country-specific reports and travel advisories, instructions to on-the-ground field operatives, mapping out go/no-go zones, coordinating information about local embassies and hospitals, assessing the security of hotels and specific rooms clients plan on utilising, and emergency extraction planning.We also provide regular intelligence briefings to our Field Operations team, advising them of changes to the current threat environment and how this might affect our clients.Over my career, I’ve learned that the ability to accurately assess risks and calibrate responses requires more than just raw information.
