About Sarah Decent

After almost 20 years in Human Resources I decided to start afresh and set up a shoe shop in Saffron Walden, Essex. Whilst to many people this seemed like a complete change, it has really just meant that I could combine the elements of my HR experience that I loved (people skills, marketing, negotiating etc) with one of my passions in life ie shoes! The 18 months I spent living in Italy and working in Spain as an HRD really opened my eyes just how poor so many UK shoe and bag shops are. I got to know some great brands that are difficult or impossible to find in the UK and now stock many of them at Modish.My shop was enough of success that I opened a new shop in Cambridge in May 2011. Specialties: Entrepreneur, HR Generalist and sample size feet (size 37) which means I can try on shoes for my shop!

So we roadtest every single pair of our shoes so we know that not only do they look good, they feel good too. And we stock a unique blend of established favourites such as Fly London and Geox alongside up and coming new brands to make us stand apart from the often boring old high street shops.These are just some of the reasons that Modish was recommended by The Guardian as one of the Top 3 shoe shops in East Anglia.
