Conduct a range of activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services on terms that are in the organization’s best interest. Ensure that all sourcing activities within area of responsibility are in full alignment with the approved sourcing plan. Manage local / regional sourcing activities.Conduct research on potential suppliers and vendors; promotions, and other industry trends as a source of accurate and up-to-date information for purchasing activities. Enter data into databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date supplier and vendor information; to track purchase and the status of orders and deliveries; and to generate purchasing reports and statistics. Monitor the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplied; follow-up the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery; and communicate status of orders with internal customers.
