Greater New York City Area

• Facilitate and strengthen partnership with local non-profits and community colleges through developing a student leadership program, delivering group presentations and meeting with program supervisors.
• Revise and expand new health curriculum to be embedded in GED program at local non-profit. The curriculum intends to develop confidence and increase knowledge of health services.
• Evaluate pilot of health curriculum in GED program including consenting of 150 participants and conducting pre- and post-test.

• Evaluate and grade student assignments throughout qualitative process including development of research question, creation of data display and conceptual framework, and completion of qualitative research article.

• Perform bilingual (Spanish/English) medical patient intake, birth control and counseling session, explanation and consent for surgical abortion procedure, 5-18 weeks.
• Assist Dr. Bours during surgical procedure, as well as room and instrument preparation/sterilization, taking vitals and patient discharge.
• Provide emotional support, education and resources for patient and partners during options counseling.

• Develop and coordinate 1600 person citywide volunteer event, including project development, supervision of staff and management day of event.
• Manage large volunteer events for corporate partners such as Nike, Adidas, and United Way.
• Develop unique volunteer opportunities in partnership with over 100 Portland non-profits with emphasis on social justice, service learning, and low-income communities.

• Answer phone calls on hotline in English and Spanish regarding abortion providers, reproductive health, California medical resources and insurance questions.
• Research current reproductive health ballot initiatives and coordinate community involvement.
• Organize volunteers who provide practical support (housing, transportation) for women traveling for abortion procedures.

• Coordinate with over 100 Portland non-profits to organize episodic and long-term volunteer projects.
• Design curriculum and lead trainings for non-profit volunteer coordinators in volunteer management and retention.
• Build and maintained over 70 volunteer opportunities each month through development with non-profit coordinators, project preparation and management, registration, and project evaluation.
