I have been a nurse for over 22 years and a Nurse Practitioner for 13 years. Much of my experience has been in cardiac medicine. I remember the first Heart Mate XVE that I had ever seen. So amazed at the fact something the size of a grapefruit could get a patient to transplant. This I believe was the start to my love of MCS therapy. I have finished my PhD in Nursing with a special focus on Frailty Assessment in MCS therapy and I’m ready to hit the ground running. Research is my third love, beyond my patients and my family. I am currently at Bryan Heart in Lincoln, NE as an MCS NP/Program Manager. My mottos: Never say never. Take one day at a time. Smell the flowers. Take the long way to work. Stare at the stars.
