Conceived, launched and then edited and published for seven years one of the most well-regarded and prosperous titles in the Edible Communities network of more than 90 local food magazines. Assembled a terrific team and won several awards for the magazine’s coverage, which became known for in-depth examinations of food system issues, such as immigration and farmworker rights, as well as insightful and timely profiles and and stellar recipes, all beautifully illustrated. Won a top Eddy Award for a special issue that explored the intersection of food and water during the protracted California drought. In 2018, sold the magazine and shifted to a role of consultant and later, freelance contributor.
Editor In Chief
Edited a start-up magazine as it rose to become the leading monthly covering the U.S. hedge fund business. Personally wrote numerous investigative profiles and features as well as breaking industry news and commentary. Working as part of a global team, planned an influential and highly profitable annual symposium, signing on some of the most sought-after and normally press-shy industry icons. Continued to contribute investigative pieces after I resigned to take care of a baby and freelance. The magazine was later absorbed into Institutional Investor.
Managing Editor
Developed deep expertise and dozens of confidential sources in the highly secretive global hedge fund arena and, prior to that, the arcane international structured finance business. Served as founding managing editor and one of the principal writers for what would become must-read weekly sources of exclusive, authoritative, high-profile and hard-hitting news about hedge funds and structured finance. Also learned to how to use data to drive reporting and story development.

Won a state public service award from the New Jersey Press Association for an investigative series of articles exposing a commercial real estate investor who had deceived ratings agencies to finance his neglected apartment buildings through an early commercial mortgage-backed securitization. Soon after the stories ran, the investor defaulted on his loans and his underwriter, DLJ, was forced to seize his more than 50 properties. Reported and wrote the series while competing with three other daily newspapers to cover all aspects of life in North Brunswick.
