I teach strategy, international business, sustainability and organizational behavior. I am passionate about incorporating experiential learning projects into my domestic and international courses. I have been involved in leading student groups on study abroad trips with strong project-based elements to Honduras, Costa Rica, Germany and England. My research focuses on how individuals, groups and organizations work together (e.g., cross sector partnerships in support of social change) across complex differentiated contexts (e.g., organizational, sectoral, geographical). I conduct in-depth qualitative research in important substantive domains such as poverty and homelessness. Projects include working with a coalition to end homelessness in Western Canada and a social enterprise for people with disabilities in Central Vietnam. My work has been published in Journal of Business Ethics and Business & Society, among other outlets, and presented at major international and national management conferences. Prior to pursuing my PhD, I was a Senior Strategy Analyst for a leading international boat manufacturer active in over 50 countries. Other previous positions include: Business Development Advisor for a social enterprise in Vietnam and Marketing Specialist for a prominent boat builder.
