Sarah's specialisation is supporting the development of long term Caring for Country and conservation partnerships that look after both culture and country, while providing sustainable social and economic benefits for Aboriginal people. Sarah works part time as an Aboriginal Partnership Officer for Bush Heritage Australia and as an independent consultant. Her mix of skills in community engagement, facilitation, planning, policy and project managment have been built through 15 years of experience working with both her own community and Aboriginal communities across Australia in Caring for Country projects. Sarah has worked in a range of government and non-government roles a Park Ranger for Bundoora City Council. As a bushcrew member for Greening Australia to a Land Based Industry Officer for Koori Business Network, working with Aboriginal businesses across Victoria. During her eleven years work with Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), a national private conservation organisation in their Aboriginal partnership program she'sbeen integral to the programs growth from one partnership to 24 partnerships. She builds relationships between BHA staff and Traditional Owner and Aboriginal community members, facilitates return to country and cultural heritage management trips, supports the development and implementation of Healthy Country Plans and organisational policy. As an independent consultant Sarah provides facilitation and negotation supports to the Victorian governments Right People for Country Program. The program supports Traditional Owners with overlapping interests in Country and where there are internal group composition disputes to lead their own negotiations and reach agreements. She is a Koori, Wadawurrung woman from Western Victoria on her father’s side. As a board member of her own communities’ representative organisation Wathaurung Aboriginal Corporation she provides voluntary input her people's cultural activities.
