I have worked closely with SLT to raise standards across the school and I am currently leading the MFL faculty which has shown improving trends over the last 3 years. I am keen coach and mentor for both staff and students. All schools know about closing the gap between our highest achievers and those facing learning challenges exist not only for pupils but also for teachers. Through collaboration with myself as a coach, encouraging, challenging and supporting staff, I firmly believe teaching standards can improve. I take a lead role in managing and leading the MFL faculty as well as improving teaching and learning and attainment across the whole school by working with mid ability boys. This year I developed a successful project working with a group of mid ability boys and teachers to raise standards and create an awareness of the teaching and learning issues surrounding this focus group. Staff have been very positive about the training sessions and support they have received this year and all of the students have made progress with regards to their target grades. I want to build on this success and develop the project further, working without outside agencies and key staff members.
