I am a professionally qualified and accredited architect with a strong design background and more than 8 years of both local and international experience working in the field, including work as a project architect and a team leader. In terms of my background;• I completed a master’s degree (M. Arch (prof)) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 2009.• I registered with SACAP as a professional architect in South Africa at the beginning of 2012.• In my last role, I was employed as a project architect for almost 4 years at Dean Jay Architects in South Africa. My top projects included both multi-million dollar commercial buildings (which subsequently won various awards and were published in architectural journals) as well as luxury private residential homes, the details of which are included in my portfolio.• My role as project architect required end-to-end project oversight and monitoring projects from the conceptual design stage, through construction and to completion.• The role also involved a significant degree of communication, teamwork and leadership as I mentored junior architects, and maintained a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team of consultants and contractors.• Currently, I work as a freelance designer based in Toronto where I have worked on various projects in North America including architecture, space planning, interior design, and furniture design.As a person, I consider myself to be a hard-worker who is both efficient and fastidious, and who works well under pressure to meet project deadlines.
