I am entering the final year of my Master of Public Health degree at Columbia and have a dual Bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in Neuroscience and Public Health, with a minor in Italian. I am interested in studying the intersection of sports and medicine, particularly with traumatic brain injuries through looking at concussions and social determinants of health. Growing up speaking Italian at home and French in school, I am interested in studying how brain injuries impact language development and neurodegenerative diseases. I also would like to shift the focus of traumatic brain injuries from treatment to prevention and encourage safer sports practices, while considering health disparities across demographic groups.
