In this role, I deliver programs that cater to children and youth ages 4-18 and focus on helping children to develop social and emotional regulation skills. We cover a range of topics, some of which include communication skills, recognizing how our emotions manifest in the body, calming strategies, problem-solving skills, and how to develop and maintain healthy friendships. Each session is concluded with a parent coaching session, in which facilitators provide parents with strategies they can use to transfer the skills their child has learned to real-life situations.

As a placement student, I focused on developing engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate programs that targetted social and emotional development for children and youth. In this role, I also had the opportunity to deliver workshops for school-aged children, participate in creating social media content promoting mental health, and assisting in client intake interviews.
