Born in Colchester, Essex, UK in 1983 I attended public school in Clacton-on-sea before returning to Colchester at 16 years old to pursue my love of the arts by completing a BTEC National Diploma in Graphics and Reprographics, finishing with a Distinction. I then went on to study Graphic Design in 2001, graduating with a Bachelor of Honours, my Graphic Design finals were exhibited at the Business Design Center in London. Whilst studying I worked at various company drawing departments, exhibition companies and had work experience within magazine departments taking freelance work to pay my way.After my studies I started working full-time at Retail Design Solutions working as a Cad Technician, Surveyor and Illustrator preparing drawings of logos and shop layouts for big supermarket chains Tesco and Sainsbury's. A few years later I relocated to Cornwall and was offered a position at Award winning Architects, Laurence Associates as the company's Associate Designer/Illustrator producing Design, Accessibility and Planning Appraisal brochures which are produced to the clients and to the Council to gain planning permission for various housing/commercial developments, it was here I learnt ArchiCad having previously only used AutoCad. About 3 years later Western Power had positions for CAD Technicians so I took the opportunity at that time and was offered a position working as a Cad Operator/Illustrator in the drawing department for constant update to the South West of England and South West Wales maps.After having spent over 14 years in my Profession in the UK as an Illustrator, CAD Technician and Graphic Designer I felt I had the time to take a career break and travel. That was 10 years ago and in that time I have gained excellent experiences which I will value for life, having embraced it, learnt it and advanced. In the 9 years that I have been in Australia I continued working freelance as a Illustrator and Graphic Designer. Working in the mines was a great eye opener for me and starting a couple of small businesses has been a massive learning curve, especially whist juggling a family.I’m a highly-motivated individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. I pride myself on my ability to liaise with people from all walks of life and build up professional rapports quickly.Creativity is a strong passion of mine as well as being very motivated and organised, adapting to any environment whilst maintaining high standards.
