In my program management role with Appen, I am responsible for managing a team of 5 project managers and a portfolio of dozens of projects totaling ~$12M in annual sales. In this role I manage program budget and revenue/margin forecasting, maintain client relationships, and provided training and mentorship to my direct reports who work to manage day-to-day project operations, ensure successful completion of project deliverables, and manage a global crowd of independent contractors.

In my role as a Project Manager, I was responsible for overseeing a P0 program consisting of roster of 6-13 projects and totaling up to $0.5M in monthly revenue. I supervised the work of a team of 7 APMs on the program, ensuring each of them understood our client's project requirements and objectives, and ensuring that each of them had the necessary resources and knowledge to complete project work successfully. I maintained a strong client relationship, managed project risks, and drove key process improvements. Under my leadership, time spent on critical reporting tasks was reduced by over 90% while dramatically improving accuracy and reducing human errors. Other process improvements supported improved scalability of Quality control processes. These improvements supported a 2.5x increase in monthly program revenue.

Appen is a global leader in data solutions for AI. My work as an Associate Project Manager for Appen focused on data annotation projects, wherein our global crowd of independent contractors provide labels to training data used to develop Machine Learning models.In my role as an APM, I was responsible to support our crowd of ICs and supervise their work, ensuring strong Quality control on our projects and assuring on-time payment of IC invoices. In this role, I was able to drive streamlining and optimization of our invoice processes, reducing manual rework and errors. I oversaw Quality control processes and collaborated with our client organization to secure key improvements in rating guidelines that facilitated higher accuracy. I worked closely with our client partners to understand project requirements and ensure these were met, and to provide visibility to risks so that suitable mitigation strategies could be implemented.In my time in this role I progressed from supervising projects completed ~500 production hours/ week to a portfolio totaling ~3,000 production hours/ week.

Increased lead pipeline, secured new business, partnered with clients to understand requirements, assisted clients in fine-tuning requirements after viewing available homes; negotiated final price, closing terms, seller-managed repairs, and closing schedule; and liaised with lender, title company and seller’s agent through closing. Successfully placed over 88% of all clients in a new home.

Collaborated with clients in end-to-end process to successfully translate requirements and vision into completed custom garments. Gathered requirements, sketched designs, selected fabrics, drafted patterns, produced and presented mock-ups, performed redesigns based on client feedback and fittings until final approval by client.Managed all business elements, including budget, schedule, contracts, marketing, and customer retention. Over 50% of all new business growth from existing client referrals.Hired, trained, and managed dressmaker staff to support growing demand and increased project complexity.

Managed homebuyer experience from initial tour, through purchase contract, construction process, until home closing.Closed 48 homes accounting for over $11m in sales in a declining market in 2007, the second highest sales record in the Tampa, Central FL division that year.Independently maintained 12+ homebuyer backlog while overseeing the successful closure of multiple simultaneous ongoing sales. Served as public representative of Taylor Morrison for Realtors and home buyers with ultimate responsibility for buyer satisfaction throughout construction process, while coordinating supporting tasks of administrative and construction staff.Created and led in-depth presentation of home sale strategies to senior management, board members and CEO, leading to selection of office to lead Tampa region following merger, and preventing layoffs of 50 team members.
