Navigating the healthcare landscape in the face of dementia can be a daunting task. I did so when building a geriatric care management practice, and I saw a huge opportunity to do better for those living with dementia and their families. After pairing up with Co-founder Ollie Fielding we are doing just that. Lizzy Care is a full-service dementia care solution providing 24/7 support for those living with dementia and their caregivers. We put in place customized care plans for individuals and their families at all stages of the dementia spectrum. We remain through every step of the dementia journey, building and managing clients’ care teams to support their physical and mental health and activities of daily life (ADL). Creating an interdisciplinary approach to dementia care management and leveraging technology is what makes Lizzy Care unique. In doing so, we are able to provide support to caregivers and use data to aid in next-best decision-making to improve the lives of those living with mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Like so many, my family has been touched by today’s epidemic of dementia. There are more than 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia, and 11 million are providing care for those individuals. There is a pressing need for our work at Lizzy Care to effect real change on individuals' lives and the dementia care community. I utilize skills from my experiences in real estate, sales and people management to build our growing team. Possessing a unique background for a healthcare–company founder, I am focused on the activities of revenue generation, operational efficiency, and diversification of income streams. My unencumbered lens allows me to see where and how we can find systemic efficiencies and build out solutions to best aid our clients. At Lizzy Care, we’re conscious that our ability to provide quality care to those with cognitive impairment is contingent on the company doing well financially. By exploring a variety of income streams, from software fees, intellectual property, and fees for service providers, we are able to ensure that those living with dementia and their loved ones receive the help that they need on their dementia journey. This goes hand-in-hand with identifying and developing efficient workflows. A constant attention to detail to how we work supports the health and well-being of our business.
