I have completed studies in biomedical engineering, mechanics major, in July 2022, securing honours and the Chancellors Letter of Commendation for maintaining my 5.85GPA over 5.5 years. Working within the Flinders University Medical Device Partnering Program and in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, my honours project involved micro-finite element modelling and analysis. During my time at university, I additionally completed studies in medical sciences. I see both degrees as complementary. During 2021, I undertook a five-month work placement opportunity with Austofix, South Australia. Here I gained industry experience on short-term team-based and individual project management skills. I also upskilled my research and development, literature review skills, across the biological, chemical, medical, biotechnical, and engineering fields; from an industrial perspective every medical device is clinically evaluated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Living in South Australia, I respect and value different cultures. To this effect, I knew when completing my degrees, I wanted to volunteer. I was involved in the Flinders University Inspire Change Mentoring Program. I felt privileged to meet with current Year 12 students, across broad-ranging socio-economic secondary schools in South Australia. I helped students to positively envision their future and aimed to support post-school STEM options. I broke down misconceptions around tertiary studies by utilising my previous tutoring experience secured at Flinders University when tutoring second year biomechanics, and some masters students. Workplace foundational skills were developed from an early age, I had the advantage to work for Bunnings Warehouse Australia, the leading Australian hardware retailer, for more than eight years. Experience gained at Bunnings, provided opportunity to utilize and further develop my soft skills, my ability to understand and manage emotions enabling me to see more clearly. As an upbeat, outgoing, energetic individual, with a passion for helping others, I am looking to expand on my network, with an emphasis on becoming a chartered engineer.
