About Sarah Grochowski

A self-motivated storyteller with a proven track record of widely-shared content.Got my start 7 years ago in N.Y.C., breaking news and an in-depth feature on human trafficking for the largest-circulating newspaper in North America – the Daily News.Since then, I've produced live-to-tape TV shows, town halls, podcasts and short documentaries including “Highway Mike" on Harlem's opioid crisis, which was nominated for an N.Y. Emmy award in 2020.At age 24 I took over as the editor of my hometown's newspaper, The Aldergrove Star, which doubled in online viewership in the first year under my leadership, in 2018.Following that, I moved up the ranks to become one of three journalists forming its Canadian publisher's digital news bureau, overseeing Black Press Media's 80-plus newspapers in B.C. and Alberta.In my current role as a reporter for the Vancouver Sun, I cover topics such as drug policy, politics and breaking news, for which I secured a Jack Webster award in 2022.
