I’m a biomedical physiology and pharmaceutical science student with a passion for scientific research, particularly within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. My early career began in medicine, where I obtained my EMT license and worked for over a year at Piedmont as a monitor tech. However, I’ve since discovered that my true calling lies behind the scenes, contributing to the development of medicines and technologies that can directly impact patient care.My academic journey has led me to research age-related vitamin B1 insufficiency and its role in promoting neurotoxicity and Alzheimer’s disease pathology. My project specifically focused on the mechanisms behind thiamine supplementation and how it affects various transporters to enhance brain uptake for potential treatment. In addition to my academic work, I’ve gained broad experience in pharmaceutical laboratories, where I’ve formulated tablets and capsules, referenced CFRs, and practiced Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).As I near the completion of my degree, I’m taking courses in neurophysiology and toxicology to bridge my interests in neuro research and pharmaceutical science, deepening my understanding of how these disciplines intersect. My adaptability, strong work ethic, and collaborative nature continue to drive me as I pursue opportunities to make meaningful contributions to the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
