I am currently employed as a Business Support Clerical Assistant, before that I worked as a Disclosure Assistant both within Humberside Police.I have 16 years experience working as an Administrative Officer for HM Courts and Tribunal Services handling queries from solicitors, Local Authorities the public and external agencies such as Relate and CAFCASS. This was a fast-paced position requiring knowledge of legal processes and excellent interpersonal skills to deal with and advise on the sensitive and confidential matters of divorce, Children Act and Care applications. In addition, I delivered training to staff and solicitors on the new Divorce processes following centralisation. I was also appointed as member of HMCTS Maturity Assessment Team to promote continuous improvement in the department.I am a graduate with an BA (Hons) degree in Psychology, which I studied alongside my full-time employment and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and Crime. Both of these qualifications are for my own interest, my real objective being a more customer focused position as I enjoy advisory work. One of my strengths is my ability to interact with the public using a friendly yet professional and diplomatic approach and combined withgood communication skills.During my previous employment as Fair Trading Officer for the Trading Standards Department, I was one of a team of four, advising consumers and traders on their rights and on current legislation. I conducted home visits, reviewed complaints and negotiated with consumers and traders to resolve issues and achieve a settlement which was agreeable to both parties. The type of role which would really appeal to me would be a customer focused position, where I can use my experience in an advisory capacity.
