Secondary Education with a double endorsement in Mathematics (EX) and Social Studies (RX). I'm a hard-working teacher with a passion for education. Education is an important factor in life and has the ability to change a person's life. I have loved history my whole life and have enjoyed introducing my students to the fun, strange, and fascinating world of both US History and World History. My favorite US history period is the War of 1812 (first time we declared war as a country, only time the capital has been seized by an invading army, our only attempt to invade Canada) while my favorite World History period is WWI (collapse of three empires, France and Britain finally getting along after 300 years of fighting, the advancements in technology). A more recent love for me is my love of math (recent as in only in the last decade). Math is a topic that can send students into tears, frustration, and anxiety. However, having a classroom environment where students are comfortable to make mistakes and take risks can encourage students to try as they learn. As someone who has had those negative feelings in math classes, I understand first hand that having a teacher who is supportive and encouraging can go a long way to helping students to succeed.
