Board Member of the the Lavit Gallery

My artwork is multidisciplinary and investigative in nature and deals with a personal interpretation of historical contexts in the field of painting. I work with digital media, drawing, photography, painting and found objects. Recent achievements include a Cork County Council artists bursary award in 2015, exhibiting as an invited artist at the 184th RHA Annual Exhibition 2014. Curating and exhibiting World View of an Oyster for Cork County Council and Macroom Town Council in 2013. Other curatorial projects include Sub-plots for allerart in Bludenz Austria 2011 and Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh, Co. Cork 2012. In 2010 and 2011 I was awarded a total of five Culture Ireland Awards to exhibit my work in the USA, Australia, Austria and Hungary.

Part-time Community Employment Scheme. In this position I was responsible for auditing, evaluating and adding to the digital data base, researching material for county Cork, baptisms, marriages and burials and conducting search requests for the public and liaising with the supervisor. I have trained three recruits over the last eighteen months in the operating and running of the project.

Part-time self-employed position with Sirius Arts Centre where I was responsible for the management of the exhibition and artist in residence programmes, working closely with the Sirius team and the artists, coordinating and mentoring the Sirius team in relation to their roles and the program. I made regular applications for funding, managing budgets and all administrative activities. I have also had a role in the development and direction the Sirius as taken during this time, accessing different funding streams, such as Cork County Council, the HSE, The Port of Cork, The Arts Council and sourced other locally based donors. I have participated in the engagement of Sirius’s activities with the public, preparing press releases and through social media.

I was a Director of the Backwater Artists Group for 6 years spending 3 of those years as Chairperson. I was responsible for the smooth running of the studios, which consisted of 27 studios with 35 artists working in the studios. There were 2 administrators and 1 caretaker, which I was also responsible for.

Part-time temporary position. I worked for the Arts Office in CIT as an arts consultant, assisting the Arts Officer administrativly, cataloguing the collection on campus, identifying and photographing the artworks and developing a data base for cataloge. I designed and installed hanging systems for the collection, installed exhibitions and negotiated the loan of works from institutions and artists.
