I deliver high quality training to paralegals supporting practitioners with patent prosecution in the field of biotechnology. Training areas include patent application preparation (specifications, drawings, and sequence listings) and preparing responses to formal notices and office actions.

I assisted with patent prosecution related projects such as drafting patent applications,sequence listings, drawings, and management of prior art databases, and landscape searches. I developed proficiency in various software applications including iManage, IPDAS, and CPi, and PatDocs.

In addition to the responsibilities described for "Microbiology Supervisor," I collaborated with multiple departments within the Next Science team (e.g., Regulatory, Clinical, Legal, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Sales, & Marketing) to support the development of novel antimicrobial products. I reviewed scientific literature to help answer research questions and contributed to a patent specification draft. I coordinated with external research collaborators and tracked progress on research projects.

I assisted with the research and development of novel antimicrobial products. I supervised a team of microbiologists and provided training and employee development resources. I generated microbiology test methods, protocols, and reports. I managed laboratory inventory and assisted with test method and equipment troubleshooting. I compiled and maintained data in Excel. To enhance efficiency, I used Excel to develop automated data forms which performed calculations and tracked inventory using advanced functions and conditional formatting. I used statistical methods to analyze data and provided data interpretations. I performed risk assessments on new product before batch release. I represented Next Science as a speaker as needed for educational presentations.

I worked to develop antimicrobial products with Next Science. In addition to antimicrobial testing against planktonic organisms and biofilms, I performed test method development, data analysis, report writing, and development of training materials for the Next Science team. I also worked on continuous improvement objectives such as increasing the reliability of inoculum preparation methods.

I performed efficacy testing on antimicrobial products to determine their ability to eradicate biofilms and planktonic bacteria. I performed a wide variety of protocols including suspension time kill assays, minimum biofilm eliminating concentration (MBEC) assays, and growing biofilms using both a CDC biofilm reactor and a Drip Flow reactor. I also have experience in barrier testing and bioburden assessment. I have also performed AOAC germicidal and sporicidal testing methods, USP 51/61, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration/Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MIC/MBC) testing and EN 1656/1657. I cultured a wide variety of bacterial and fungal pathogens. My responsibilities also included report writing and protocol development.

I performed tests to assist research and development of products that eradicate bacteria. These tests included neutralization assessment to determine appropriate neutralizers for antimicrobial products and suspension time kill assays (STKs) to determine antimicrobial efficacy against planktonic organisms. I also assisted by preparing buffers, agar plates, neutralizers, and maintaining lab inventory.

I created learning materials and led students in review sessions.

I assisted with research relating to Alzheimer's disease. I reviewed clinical reports and extracted key data.

I researched head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. I performed cell culture, biochemical assays, and data analysis. My experience includes extraction of DNA, RNA, and proteins, RT-qPCR, Western blotting, microscopy, soft agar colony formation assay, and culturing oncospheres.

I assisted with an immunology research project by performing assays (including ELISA) and data analysis.
